spent the day on the radio today.. spoke to this guy www.qrz.com/db/PY2EXclck in the tab "DETAIL" just over 5300 miles away!

I dont know much about "Civvy" radio, but when i was in the falklands if our satcom went down i would set up TASCOMM (1KW HF) to let all the youngens phone home. Utilising the Ascension islands re-broadcasting station, the young lads and lasses always found that interesting.

Aye, TASCOMM has been around for a while now, its old callsign was "Architect" it played second fiddle to BT's "portishead radio" which is now sadly closed down. 1KW feckin ell ! I never used more than 40W !
