It was great to see so many people last night, old faces and new ones too. I know I've not been around much for a long time, but I felt honoured and privileged to have been able to have been in attendance.
The noise coming from everyone at the end of the service is something that will stay with me for a very long time and the support and solidarity shown by the whole biking community was moving beyond words.

Folks, as most of you will now know the funeral for Marie Brown will be held at 1530 On Thursday 30th May at the Crematorium in Acklam. The Brown family have stated that they would welcome us as bikers, along with our bikes if we wish to attend. When I checked with the Brown family's wishes earlier today the answer came back;
"yes mate, bikes in their hundreds"
In addition I have been asked to inform you that for those who can, they would very much like the bike's to follow the funeral procession from Marie's home address to the crematorium. Hilary Bean has been asked by the Brown's along with myself to organise our biking community so that we can honour their wishes and give Marie a 'bloody good send off' in true biking fashion. Please bear with us at this point in time as we need to consult with Cleveland Police and the like; we will keep you all informed and will post details on FaceBook and across all forums once our own arrangements have been coordinated with the Peter Brown family and everyone else concerned. Please be assured we will notify you as soon as practical in order that nobody misses out, I know we are all keen to show our respect and attend the final farewell to a dear friend tragically taken from us - A final fare well to Marie Brown

If I rememver right paul (unless police are attending anyway) they has to be a certain number of bikes beofre they will escort
I could be wrong but in the case they dont im sure their could be several volenteers that could assit with the escort not getting split up so to speak just a suggestion :-) I will be attending this even if we are running a final farwell

I have started the same list on Smoggies, post on one or the other or make a note as I have and lets get it to be the biggest list yet for the funeral, we all loved her, let the family know just how much, do as I am and take a day or your life off work, will also be doing the same for Marty when I find out.

Ive also spoken with Hilary from pitstop tonight and the police have advised that if the attendance of bikes exceeded 15 then they would 'recommend' an escort just for purposes of marking junctions and keeping the cortege moving Ill know more tomorrow after speaking to the funeral director and hope to post the arrangements for us as bikers

If the police can't do it then the Boundary 500 who did a great job at the last funeral would maybe help

All, I'm James, Matty's big brother. Firstly, Tuesday was a really brilliant tribute to Matty and Marie, we have been blown away by the support from everyone. Secondly, myself and many people I know have read this forum thread and found comfort and strength from the words contained within it. Thank you.
Matthew's Funeral will be on Friday 31st May, the day after Marie's. We will start at 09:45 at St. Francis of Assissi church in Ingleby Barwick for a service before we head to the crematorium for 11:00. The crematorium is St. Bede's Chapel, Middlesbrough. Then we will have a gathering at the Manor House, just outside of Ingleby, in Maltby. All are welcome.
In the same as Marie's family, our family would welcome bikers and their bikes to join us at Matthew's Funeral.

Hi James, words will never replace what you have lost but the support that everyone is showing for both families and each other is both humbling and a testament to how popular and liked they both were. Both funerals will be very well attended I'm sure - they would never have guessed in their wildest dreams just how popular they were
