Sad to say but that was me. I may have not contribited much but i did log in regularly I am in hull royal infirmary and ive had an operation to stabilise my pelvis. I need another one or two for arm and hand. Linda loved pillion. Her funeral will be held at Finningley Church. S. Yorks at 1.00 on 1st of May. Some of you would have seen us at the whistlestop whitby or scaling dam. She used to enjoy those nights Steve Steve, if you are still logging in to the forum from time to time then please let us know how you are getting on. Would be good to hear from you. Mike

I do hope Steve has recovered enough for today. Words fail me otherwise (for a change), so I found this instead: " ‘She is Gone’ by David Harkins
You can shed tears that she is gone
Or you can smile because she has lived
You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back
Or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left
Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her
Or you can be full of the love that you shared
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday
You can remember her and only that she is gone
Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back
Or you can do what she would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on."

Thank you for the kind words, I have a positive outlook on life and got a lot of comfort and inspiration from it.
I could not log in for a while as I was without a phone etc in hospital. I have made good and significant progress. It has taken a while but I am on my hind legs again, it is at a slow pace but I am walking.
My left arm / hand is also recovering but this will take a lot more physio before I can use it properly. I am out of hospital and return as an out patient 3 times a week for physio, hydro therapy etc. hard work but very rewarding for me.
I am stopping with friends and family until I am "fit" to return home, I have not been back to Scarborough since the accident, that's 4 months ago. I have to lay a few ghosts to rest first.
Thank you once again for the responses, Linda and I discussed events like this and we both said that grieving for the rest of our lives was not the way to go for us. It was more important to celebrate everything that we'd achieved.
I am able to log on again and will do so regularly.. THANK YOU , Steve.

Good to see you back Steve and recovering from your physical injuries. Work hard at it and I am sure you will have a full recovery.
Time is a great healer and having close family and good friends around you will help you in other ways.
Take care and get well soon.

Hi Steve, it is really great to hear from you, especially as you seem to be making positive and steady progress. It is nice to hear that you seem to have the support from friends and family that is so important at times like this. All the physio and stuff sounds like hardwork but it really is the only way to go after the kind of injuries you suffered. I am sure Linda is egging you on from up there. God bless mate and keep up the good work.

I appear to have lost the facility to start a thread. 15 very long months ago I was involved in a fatal RTA. My wife and pillion Linda, did not survive. I intend to put a bench seat outside the Whistlestop Cafe in Whitby as a memorial.
The nearest bike night date to her birthday is 9th July. I have a few friends helping transport the the seat. If you find yourself close by please come and bend my ear!!
If in future years you find yourself sitting on the seat, please remember Linda, she adored the view of the Abbey and loved riding pillion.

Time is too slow for those that wait, too swift for those that fear, too long for those that grieve, too short for those who rejoice. But for those who love- time is eternity.
Henry van Dyke.
bless you.

I vividly remember reading your initial post and how very sad it was to read. The bench sounds like a very fitting tribute to Linda
Best Wishes Steve.

Will definitely pop over on the 9th if I am in the area. Hope you are well on your way to a full recovery from your injuries.
