I'm John, i have a VFR400. just passed my test last month. got it in before the change. Just hoping to get some good experience in and enjoy riding Joined the forum because i got pulled over by lee a couple of weeks ago for incorrectly overtaking him but on the plus side enjoyed a great ride out with them for the day!

Did you struggle for parts with it, i found with mine being an import most dealers wont touch it! as for relibility mine has only got 13,000 miles on the clock and i just put a thousand of them on. So couldnt compent but i have heard from a lot of poeple there a good little engine. not the comfiest thing ever like. better than my little cbr125 though! lol

yer i had a look good little bikes for a learner and seemed to run on air, when did you pass your test like? oh really that doesnt sound to comforting, im only an apprentice so dont really have money to be spending all the time. is it servicing thats expensive or did yours just go wrong all the time?

Passed my test on cbr 2 yrs ago end of feb just gone. Was restricted altho the vfr didnt feel much dif restricted to be honest. Was riding the cbr for about 6 months prior to that but clocked up loads of miles. Had bad accident last april so been off the bike for just under a yr. Got back on xmas eve. Think i got a bit of a bum deal with the vfr to be honest. Started with loose wire on the coil then it kept shottin shims out, when it did it 2nd time got it sorted and sold it. Before that it had that much crap in tank from rusty water too so had to get that all resinned inside too. was just costing me too much and too unreliable

You could try these i normally find them pretty good with quick delivery www.wemoto.com/Or these www.cmsnl.com/search.php?s_name=vfr400i normally use them to get the part numbers i need and how much (just convert euros to pounds) so there is no messing around at dealers, but you can order direct from them

sounds like you've had a bit of bad luck. just keeping my fingers crossed mines a sound runner! it looks like new so hopefully the low mileage will hold any expense of for a while. so your off the restrictors then? rip off what they charge for a couple of metal disks to stick in your carbs like! you on the ride sunday?
