i decided to take on a project bike for the winter with a friend of mine luke who some of you have met at this years BSB at croft hopefully fixing up a bike for him to use next year will motivate him to fly through his test and actually get into biking like hes always said he would we have been scouring ebay for a little while for something dirt cheap and bikes have come and gone.. we went for this early example of a zzr600 picked it up for £320 its a non uk import model, only done 16,000km but its quite old so the engine may need a rebuild, its a 1992 bike its all there very little needs replacing it just really needs a good tidy up and re paint and anything else we find wrong with it (we suspect quite a bit) this should keep us busy for the winter

we have the bike! big plus 1 to gipsykev for taking me all the way down to birmingham to get it.. well done to him for putting up with me for 9 hours :S i couldnt do it! having got the bike back to mine and had a little look around it.. my first impressions were.. what on earth have we bought :S but iv had a closer look this evening at it and its not actually that bad what we know so far.. it need the electrics looking at.. nothing is wired up right and theres loose cables and odd bits going everywhere.. the bodywork isnt actually that bad, needs a tidy up and paint but theres only one panel that really needs replacing the fueling needs looking at as the bike wont start but it has a spark the exhaust is dire.. the welding job that was done one the link piece is shocking.. i could even have done better :S rear brakes arent bled or fitted properly this is going to be a busy winter by the look of it lets see just how cheaply we can get this done!
