i know it is possible and been a few years since i had it set up before.
can anyone guide me into setting up a FREE web page to host from a PC at home.
if i can get this sorted then it will save me the chew on in splitting videos up to share to forum members.

If you just want a simple page then Google do it for free: sites.google.com/or for something a bit new and different: pen.io/

Are you talking about running your own web pages from your home computer or using a web hosting company on the net?

Are you talking about running your own web pages from your home computer or using a web hosting company on the net? hosting it from home computer. the problem i have with alot of online free web hosting companies is they don't allow over 1gb worth of data which when it comes to the video clips,.. means i would have to downsze them alot which won't be worth doing,. or take the oldest movie down when the newst one goes up. where as if i have my own computer hosting the site then i have pretty much any space i have on my PC,.. which will be dedicted to hosting these.

I run my own web server and mail server from home, this is the way I did it.
Register your own domain name. I use zone edit to host my dynamic IP to give me a static one. (Free service.) I use Abyss web server (free if you only need one domain)
I have one computer that stays on 24/7 running the web server, mail server and ftp server I use Dreamweaver to make the web site.
If your going to host your own video clips you need to be wary about how much bandwidth you might eat up. Your ISP may cap you.

Why not just use drop box chris and let people download the videos they want?

Why not just use drop box chris and let people download the videos they want? Didn't know you could share files like that on there as I use drop box anyway
