yeah this was off the bike i dont like the mess on with normal headphones on the bike so just go some very cheap flat helmet ones off ebay. alot easyer. just leave them up and tuck all the wires behind padding. the just get a headphone extender cord and plug one side into helmet part and other into phone. if you get what im on about...

Yeah, bit annoying if you have to do it for each helmet though and would be even more annoying if they got soaked and fried

Try seinnheiser headphones, really good sound quality and the price isn't too bad either, had mine a good few years now and they've held up pretty well

I use my iPhone or my Sony Walkman mp3 player with a pair of ultimate ear moulded headphones. The Sony was about £100 and is really easy to use, battery lasts for ages, much better than the old iPod I had. The ultimate ear head phones are not cheap but they stay put, do not get damaged by my helmet and the sound is excellent. I could never get the ear bud type head phone to stay in. Marty

It wont matter so much on the device you use, but the headphones will make a huge difference.
I'd recommend pretty much any in-ear buds (the ones that go right in), Sennheiser are probably a good choice for both quality and value for money.

I just have headphone plates velcrod into my helmet and an extention to connect to mp3 player or phone for sat nav. Sits snuggly against both ears and nice and loud to drownd out the bike and wind noise
