I been havin a prob with booting up. When i switch it on power goes to box but wont come on. If i switch off at the wall and on again it comes on and boots up no probs, a couple of times it has booted up and i have had to restore I took monitor cable off and refitted it and it worked, not convinced that is the prob think i was just lucky Any help a bonus but will have to be quick as i have a very very short temper with it

Just a thought, if its an older PC the BIOS battery (flat coin battery) might have ran down and the BIOS lost its settings? I had this happen on a PC recently, new battery, run through setup (F2 on start) job done.

Cant see it being bios battery, ive had a flat one before and it starts fine, just doesnt save bios settings, so you get the f2 to enter setup message everytime you turn it on
My guess is memory, if it has more than one stick, try taking one out at a time see if anything helps

Dell desktops can have a series of diagnostic lights that flash at startup to indicate hardware problems, some motherboards can do the same - but obviously you'd need a working PC to get to the manufacturers help page

Have you guys been studying some kind of foreign language.
My solution when they break is to chuck them in the bin and get a new one, but that's because I'm a technological piece of toast!!
