Went for a run out in the van down the Dales so we called in to AMR at Bellerby following Daves recommendation. Spot on, great guys who'll do the work. I'll take it in, hopefully on Friday! Onwards and upwards, I was very impressed with AMR's attitude

Well, that's it. The Zephyrs in AMR's garage at Bellerby, let's see if they sort the little bugger!

Well apart from the time factor everything about AMR was spot on! I picked the Zephyr up last Tuesday and rode it back from Bellerby to Teesside. What a revelation, I rode all the way with a smile! They stripped the carbs and worked their magic but the problem persisted. After a call to me I told them that the shim covers fell off while I was doing the repairs and I just popped them back on, obviously in the wrong order, a big ahhhh! came over the phone. The bottom line is that they had to order new shim parts, they fitted them and I've got my scruffy little bike back. Chuffed!

The time factor was my fault by the way

Excellent news, pleased you got your bike sorted out.
When having problems with the running of Bob's Bike, AMR did ask "when were the valve clearances last checked".
As the valve clearances were ok, the problem was diagnosed using waste gas analysis and the carbs. were cleaned/set up correctly.
