Okay, so my new chain and sprocket set arrived yesterday, and tbh, im pretty hopeless when it comes to doing things on my bike so Lee was gunna show me how to do it, unfortunatly he's away in Turkey for another week so I figure im just gunna have a shot at it my self with a mate of mine.
Now im not asking for a full on description on how to do this, but to help us out abit, i was hoping someone could maybe quickly run through a few bulletpoints of what to do? I imagine its gunna be pretty straight forward, but obviously, every little helps!

This is a pretty good write up cbrworld.net/forums/thread/257864.aspxBut as David says it needs special tools and if you dont have them the job becomes a nightmare. I've just replaced mine and had to take it to petite and france for them to rivet the chain (bought chain from them). Also if the front sprocket is held on with just one nut it can be a pain to get of, i had to use a lump of 2x4 wood through the back wheel up against the swinging arm and a three foot tube on the socket to break it free.

Okay, how it stands so far, is i've replaced both sprockets, as for putting the master link on the chain... well, its no easy task i must say, but as its started raining and the mole grips have packed in, tomorrow I will be going for the other technique of 2 x 1/2" socket ends with a g-clamp I feel that this way will work much better! The new sprockets do look really nice though!

Okay, so after day 2, it goes as so, after starting to rivet the links, shit hit the fan, the link has started to push out the other side, its gunna be fixable, its just a right arse to do with the wheel in the way!

Funny you should say that actually Lee, earlier I said to Martyn "I think we should leave it until Lee gets back!"

You're absolutely right Ryan, you had a go yourself, it's sometimes the only way to learn, there is no shame in asking for help and you are more likely to get it if you show some interest yourself, well done.

Hey Shocx next time you buy a chain and you dont have the tool to join it buy an endless chain and just drop the swing arm off, i know a lot of people who do this, mite take a bit longer but its a straight forward job, hope your back on the road soon

Right then, thanks to Kwaker Ste for lending me his tools, I now have my chain fully done. Wether its gunna hold or not is another matter Gunna test it out later on
