Checking all the fuses and earths would be a good place to start.

Sounds a lot like you've got a battery/charging problem and discharged the battery on the way home, hence the lack of enough energy to restart, the bike would probably bump start.

i would check both of the connections to the battery. Positive and negative. If these are both really tight i would follow the wiring from the negative connection to where it bolts onto the side of the engine block. Then id tighten it. Remove any corrosion and or repair any rotten cable that you find. Use wire wool to clean up connections and apply a thin smear of grease over cleaned connections to prevent re occurrence. Try this then post again if you still have problems

Hi Lee thanks again for the advice I've tried the battery and a few of the other connections with no success as I'm very limited with tools is there a auto electrician for bikes that does call outs as I haven't got the means to transport it anywhere I also called the AA recovery and they wont attend as the bike is at home it has to be away before they are interested unless you have homestart???

Parmo, Have you recharged the battery up and see if it will crank over ok? If it still clicks on a good battery ( how old is the battery on the bike by the way), sounds like solenoid not working properly, 99% caused by bad earth or power connection. If the bike cranks great and fires, i would be looking at charging circuit..the alt and defo the rectifier ( that is what went on my blade..twice). Was the bike running fine prior to the digigear stopping working? Do you ride with lights on? Reason i ask is 9 times out of 10, you usually start to get intermittent running, spluttering and sounding like it is running on two or three cylinders then back on to four. if that was the case it points more to the charging side at fault, as the charge is getting used up out the battery and little or no charge getting put back into the battery, so eventually it becomes flat. As for checking alt and rectifier, you will need a multimeter and a haynes or workshop manual for some electrical tolerance figures
