ive got an optimate three. Both bikes have a hard wired slave lead and the old land rover has the crocodile leads poking out from under the bonnet. The charger just gets moved about between the three vehicles. It works a treat. The land rover is from 1971 and it fires first time. Brilliant piece of kit, especially for the winter months

Yep mine too, an oxford optimiser on through the winter months and I usually fire up the bike every other week and run it until the fan cuts in, the noise anoys the hell out of the wife as garage is joined to the house but I dont give a shit !

I wouldn't bother - all you'll do is create condensation within the engine, leaving a nice creamy sludge in your engine.

Done it for 15 years and drop the oil before the bike comes out in spring, never had any sludge and running the engine stops the fuel going off in the carbs. Anyway condensation forms anyway doesn't it? Everyone has there own routines i suppose anyone else do things differently?, I know a guy whose bike lives outside and it doesn't get started untill about march, all he does is charge the battery starts it and uses it!
