I'm lost trying to understand half of what you're all talking about here, but that's what happens when you're a Technological Piece of Toast!

A while ago if you downloaded Flash 10 from Adobe it also installed Norton essentials (or something like that).. just looking now and it'll install mcafee or Googles Chrome if you don't un tick a checkbox. We ended up with Norton and we had to use the tool to get shot of it
If you use Microsoft essentials make sure you have a recovery disc, some of the bogus anti virus software like Alpha Antivirus renames system files so when Essentials removes it the system can't boot (bin there done that)

Not sure if you still have the problem buddy but heres my advice. 1. Norton is a piece of s**t (i wouldnt even take it for free) 2. This is all you need for an anti virus free.avg.com/gb-en/homepage3. To get rid of the virus, download Spybot www.safer-networking.org/en/download/4. Scan with spybot, reboot, should remove virus. 5. If spybot doesn't remove i'm afraid its a system restore, (i think with dell you Tap F6 upon the BIOS booting. If not use the disk (if you have it)

Naturally the administrators of Teesside Bikers cannot or would not condone nor support the usage of stolen software, one presumes?

i would take rockjake28's advice, norton is not very user friendly when it comes to pop ups etc (what you are experiencing may be to do with norton or a virus or even both) i would say the best thing to do would be to completely uninstall and remove norton from your computer and then download AVG (i just use the free version its always done the job for me) and then run a full computer scan, but to uninstall norton completely can be a hard task in itself first try the usuall control panel and uninstall program and if that doesnt work try this ( www.askdavetaylor.com/how_to_fully_remove_norton_from_pc.html ) just a quick google and that should get rid off it. (also to get round the pop up you could try alt + tab or alt + f4 ) - one of those could work as a work around for now ) just read your post thats its sorted, i should realy start reading the end of these threads!
