Hi,
Looking to gut my exhaust, i.e. remove baffles to make it sound more sporty. Does anyone know where I can get this done, and if I do will my bike pass MOT?
Thanks

You don't need to gut them with the vtec to make them sound better. Have a look on the vfr forum there are instructions on how to do it. Essentially you take off the bright work. Then using a hole cutter for the drill you cut around the four small exhaust pipe extensions at the end. Then saw across them and take them off and then using a Dremel or similar with a small cutting disk you cut inside each pipe by about an inch or as far as you can get with the Dremel. It takes a long time and a few disks but the sound is so much better and the exhaust is still completely legal. I did it with mine when I had the VFR and you'll need some patience but it's cheap and definitely worth it. Good luck

Kev Pickering - Exhausts may be able to help. Pmsl I don't know why I bother.
Some people on the forum only did two of the four as they felt this achieved the sound they wanted. Failing that just feel like your forced to use a site sponsor because as bikers we wouldn't want to be seen to be doing anything untoward....even if it passes it's MOT.

To be fair, the thread starter asked where it can be done. Kev pick is local and he does jobs like this for beer tokens.
Kev's done work for me and his welding looks the same as factory manufacturers welding, it's that good.
Like Betty says though, if you feel competent to do it yourself then fair play. Personally though, for £30 or whatever it costs, I'd rather not take the chance ( or the skin off my knuckles ) of screwing the pipes up. They ain't cheap to replace after all.
Undoubtably the finest sounding V4 I've heard in Teesside, belongs to Steve , SIDS fella. It is beyond awesome and the tone can only be described as "Glorious"

Got a new Delkavic exhaust as I did. It makes the bike sound amazing, in fact probably the nicest sounding road bike I've heard.
If Dayglo's post is anything to go by then even getting Kev to do it will render it a 'no go' as far as MOT's are concerned. To be fair with the method I've mentioned it's been done by hundreds of people and nothing can really go wrong with it but if you want it totally gutting then I'm sure Kev can do it.
