Erm, I'm not much keen on the front end of my bike and, after some mechanical changes I've got lined up, I want to butch up the front end a tiny tad. Initially I was gonna put black vinyl either side of the headlight (black unit from Aprilia is £160+), but it's a textured plastic so it won't stick too good, and I'll probably have creases and bubbles. Soooooo what "Back 2 Black-esque" product have you guys used/do you recommend? The front of the bike's really started to fade, started out a mid-grey but is now a very light - somewhat patchy - grey. Simoniz Bumper/Tyre GelAutoGlym Bumper CareHoltz Bumper PaintAutoglym Bumper DyeLiterally never used any of this, and it seems like it could well be very hit and miss, hard to apply and dry patchy. Either way as dark and long lasting as possible, if anybody knows of any good stuff please guys

ACF-50 can be used to enhance the appearance of plastics.

if you on about dyed plastic and not painted then the best way to do it is with heat It's the headlight unit, not sure I feel good attacking it with a heat gun (haven't got one, anyway). D'ya reckon that'd be the only way, or is there a lotion/potion that'll do the job? It's pretty grey and patchy, is there anything you guys can think of that's likely to get it a dark grey/black around the headlight, maybe the front fender. Open to suggestions on how else to butch it up, too. Considered that flyeye stuff, but I'm undecided. I'll give ACF a go, David, if all else gets shot down. But not holding out much hope, having used WD before, and that's returned to normal within a matter of days.

Have you thought about spraying it Rick. I have a flyscreen on my bike, which was a kind of dark smoked coloured perspexy thing. However, I managed to snap into three pieces as soon as I got it. (Doh!). After glueing it back together, I sprayed it mat black. Cant remember exactly the name, but it was an aerosol for plastic. I also bought a primer for plastic too.I do remember that I bought both from Boyes in Billingham. Flyscreen is still fine with no flaking or discolouring. Might be worth looking into. I know from using such products as back to black et al, on car trims / bumpers, the colour tends to fade back to grey pretty quickly.

I have my mate, but I worry when dong permanent mods down the line when it comes to getting shot of. Very very tempting, though. Might just suck it up and do it.

just hold it over heat and it will gently melt the surface and turn it back to brand new, just dont touch the surface until it has cooled

That's only going to take it back to grey-ish. Ideally I wanted it to be darker, or even black.
Might just have a stab at spraying it.

Don't bother just have it plastic wrapped it does no harm at all and it can always be reversed by just taking it off a good plastic wrapper can even wrap over textured surfaces but what I can see your wanting to do is easy and it won't spoil even washing it under a jet wash - they have to hear it all up to get it to stick properly yet it is removable what bike is that ?

Aprilia Pegaso StradaAlready paid for the paint, but it started getting pretty overcast as I took the headlight unit apart - which was actually a bit of a chew, turned out I need some electrical connectors to remove the indicators before I can take the sides off - then it pissed down.. Good job I didn't paint it! It's hardly worth getting wrapped for the size of it. Plus I don't know how much that'll cost/where to go etc. But I seen the 3M guys on YouTube demonstrating the difference between applying rap to a regular panel, and then to plastic not much different to that, and it came off way too easily.
