Hi everyone, I'm Marty, from Hartlepool. I passed my test in June 2014 and got myself a 1995 Kawasaki ZX6R (old and might not be everyone's cup of tea) but I love it. I don't get out on the bike a lot of the times apart to and from work and the occasional weekend ride out, but would like to come to some of the meets etc. I was a late starter on motorbikes, I didn't really take much interest until my sister and her hubby moved to the Isle of Man and they got me hooked on the TT! Now im just bike mad and would like to learn more about bikes.

Hi Marty, welcome to the site. What part of the island does your sister and her husband live in? There's a large group on here that go over to watch the racing every year. Typicali we stay near Sulby, but there are a few staying near Glen vine/ Crosby for TT15 Look forward to meeting you

My sister and her husband live in Douglas, they live pretty much on Bray Hill. They keep torturing me to go over, but i probably wont get over until 2016.

St ninians to bray hill is a great stretch. Have a look on the steam packet website tonight. If you haven't been before, try the low priced "TT taster" during practice week. No doubt you'll have a free bed at your sisters place, so there's no excuse really. "Unless I'm very much mistaken, this is the greatest race in the world" Murray Walker

"Unless I'm very much mistaken, this is the greatest race in the world" Murray Walker I do have a free place to stay and totally agree with the quote of Murray Walker. Its mainly family commitments etc, that I dont get chance. My sister and her hubby are good enough to send me videos and collect autographs for the time being haha

Videos don't do the place justice. You MUST see it for yourself. Leave Monday, stay overnight Tuesday, Wednesday and come back Thursday morning. It's only two hours to Heysham.. I'm truly amazed that people make it out to be such a big trip. It's the same as a ride to Whitby and back.. Get it booked !

I must admit it is so tempting, I'm a TT nut and haven't been yet, imagine what I'll be like once I have, I won't sleep haha

Whilst working at British Steel, South Works, Hartlepool, many years ago, a senior colleague who was a pooley, said to me to hide his shame, that they caught the monkey but they took it to Stockton Malitia who hung it. Since then I have campaigned all my life to clear the good name of stockton.
