Hey guys what's up!
I'm Scott, new to the forum etc and looking for a bit of advice. I've finally decided after years of debating to get my license and a bike. But my question is; turning 24 in August it seems stupid not to wait to do the direct access course then, so my plan is obviously to do my CBT and get a 125 for now, but do I spend out on a decent 125 and keep that even after I've passed my test until I learn to handle a bike properly, or buy something cheap and cheerful and then buy something bigger after I've passed my test?
I know riding a bike is a bit different but In a car I'm a bit of a speed demon (albeit in the right places) so I'm more worried about jumping on something too quick being too cocky and hurting someone or potentially myself! Any help would be greatly appreciated and sorry for the essay!

Welcome to the forum Scott. Personally I'd go the cheap and cheerful route first, mainly down to the fact that your likely to change your mind at least eleventy three times on what bike you want before you pass your das Also new riders have a habit of dropping their bikes a little bit.

Aye I was thinking about dropping it etc, my idea was to get a yzf125 or aprilia rs125 then after I've passed my test, derestrict it and ride that for a while to get used to riding etc before going for anything bigger. Trouble is as well as running my own business I do a fair bit of agency work so I end up commuting 20/60 miles a day and will end up wanting to use the bike now and again but not sure it'd be viable on a 125?
And thanks!

Sounds like a plan :-D
The main thing to remember is to just ride your bike and enjoy it :-D
