Hi all back into biking after a 30 yr break used to have a 250lc 30years ago now got myself a 2002 R6 hope to get some great advice from u all as having some problems with it so prob start another thread

Cheers all Quite scarey being back on a bike they've come on a long way since my LC But enjoying it all the same Running a bit rough at the mo hope it's not the dreaded cracked liners Might have been scammed in my desperation to get back into biking

Is that the Nikasil coated cylinders? what mileage is it?

Yeah nikasil only done 9K but after I bought bike checked DVLA MOT history and bike was off the road for 4 years which heightens my suspicions

Sounds odd, shouldn't be any engine problems at that mileage, do you reckon its been used on track?

Seems like a very standard bike everything original.might get it checked out somewhere where they know what there doing anybody recommend anyone bike will need picking up .got a spare few quid to spend on it

Welcome back to biking... Lots changed in your absence... Tyre technology has moved on significantly, brakes have got better, and power output has developed. Take your time getting to know the bike and enjoy it...
