myself, martyndewse and nick (elp) were marshallling at last night when a sidecar outfit (that had just come from sulby) cut out on the approach to ginger hall. the combination made it to the pub and we pushed it off the track and began to clear up the oil it was losing. unfortunately though, news filtered through that another outfit crewed by Bill Currie from Ellesmere Port and Kevin Morgan from Shrewsbury had crashed at Ballacrye. The session was stopped and ACU officials began looking into how much oil was lost...and where. We were stood with the guys from the lead sidecar outfit when the news arrived about the untimely demise of the crew at Ballacrye. It put a dampener on what had been a great day. The events were discussed at length over a few drinks and the conclusion was that all riders know the risks in this event and the danger element is part of it. the consolation being that the sidecar crew died doing what they loved. Its so sad, we all know the risks involved with all motor sport , not just the TT, and the riders still go there knowing them too, year after year.
BIG RESPECT and RIP.

Sad news, always bad to hear of an incident but in racing I feel it can affect more people.
