What do you do to prevent or protect yourself from the effects of punctures?
I don't run my tyres with any puncture preventative sealant but have used Motul Tyre Repair to good effect, this product repairs and re-inflates tyres. (Oh yes, and when that failed I called Lee).
More recently, I carry a bottle of Slime and a mini compressor.

I currently carry a variety self tapping screws and some amalgamating tape I don't get punctures :-) Top tip avoid the "dirty" parts of the road when filtering e.g. Hatched areas that don't get swept.

More recently, I carry a bottle of Slime and a mini compressor. Well today, coming back from Whitby, I helped a guy with a puncture. He was at Loftus and lived in Brotton. The "new" tyre was completely flat with a good size hole in the centre of the tread. Put the Slime in and started to inflate using the mini compressor. The hole was initially too large for the compressor to inflate the tyre, therefore it was temporarily plugged with a piece of wood and eventually inflated to +30psi. He gave me some money for the Slime which I will replace a.s.a.p. Followed the guy to Brotton, he was well chuffed. For the future, I will carry a selection of self tapping screws to initially seal the hole.

i have a plug repair kit underseat one with little air canister. Have used a tyreweld one were it blows your tyre up injecting solution inside the tyre that got me home no problem about hundred mile home so recomend tyreweld.

The guy didn't have any roadside assistance/recovery, a must for motorcyclists in my opinion. Been round to Lee's, and he has furnished me with a selection of screws and self amalgamating tape to add to my tool kit.

Roadside assistance is a definite must as well in my opinion, I have full recovery, onward travel or return to home, as well as home start, I've just renewed my bike insurance and I could have got it as cheap as £70 fully comprehensive but with legal assistance and recovery it went up to £120, but worth i reckon, if nothing more than for peace of mind
