Jessop's in M'boro used to do this type of thing but it aint cheap.
From memory you used to be able to get a device that you literally project the image onto and it captures it to PC - cant remember much else - sorry!

Ive got 6 x 200 foot 8mm reels of film and 8 x 50 foot 8mm reels of film...... after some ringing around and computer bashing i got in touch with a local firm who initially quoted £769 to transfer the lot to dvd..... the guy i spoke to said he would do some ringing around on my behalf, he then called me back and said it could be done for £205 ..... these reels are over 40 yrs old and have only been viewed once using an old projector many, many years ago.... they belong to my 'in laws' .... so ive sent em off to be transfered to disc as a gift to them.......They dont know yet ! Cant wait to see their reaction when i get them back in 10 days time ! ;D
