hasnt been much going on with this project in the last month because once id got the wiring loom i didnt have the money to buy anymore parts for it.. but payday has been and ive got a batch of parts on order to kickstart this project again the parts ive ordered will take it close to being a running bike, exciting times got brake lines, wheel bearings, oil filter, clocks all on order, and got the electrics to finish after that its mainly cosmetic with the bodywork to repair and paint and chain and sprockets

thanks for that chris +1!
quick update..
the project has made progress! finally actually did something with it
after a long period of not having any money all the time because of the new bike and my cars cam belt snapping ive finally got back on it and done some work on the kawasaki, ive taken a few of the panels and i've started to strip the primer and paint off ready for a new coat of black.
in other news.. i bought a 12mm allen key which i will need for the front wheel because it has the most stupidly over engineered front axle ive ever seen, anyway thats off and i got to take the front end off the bike..
happily it only needs new seals and oil in the stancions and the head stock bearings feel like new, so once this is back together with the new wheel bearings i can have a look at the arse end and see what needs doing back there
total spend is up to 630 now with all the parts and im estimating 800 by the time its finished, happily though my mate "other luke" is still going halves on the cost of the bike so its not breaking the bank too much.. im excited to get it done ;D

I've been busy with the project while the girlfriends been on holiday have the front end in bits all the forks apart and ive looked at all the seals and wheel bearings and stuff, im replacing all of them and ive taken all of the paint off the forks ready to spray them silver so i can put them back on the bike also.. the wheels were so badly painted in black im going to strip them down and repaint them white, will look good with a black bike i think, or it will look rubbish, il find out when its finished apart from the front end needing painting and re assembling theres not all that much left on the bike the rear end needs the same tidy up the front does and then its just the usual, new oil and filter, chain and sprockets, theres a nail in one of the tyres to get sorted and it wont be too far off at all ive decided instead of replacing the downpipes to keep the old ones and make what i can out of them because although they arent all welded to the 4 into 1 connector box they are all in very good condition i think im going to use the spare end can from the sv650 and then with a bit of help make a link piece from that to the connector box, i might need your help for that bit jacko il pay you in tea.. or coffee.. or whatever it is real bikers drink (according to my workmates your not a real biker unless you have a beard and tattoos, i have neither)

tonight I've been round the garage again and I've been sorting out the wheels tonight, i have a wire brush wheel drill attachment and after coating the old paint with thinners using bits of paper towel and a paintbrush and leaving it for a bit I've got rid of most of the old black paint off one side. it looked like this before and now it looks like this going to get the rest of the paint off tomorrow other than that my dads been helping out while we can get no further fixing my car so he's painted the fork legs for me so we can get that all ready to go back on, once the wheels painted we can re-assemble the whole front end

decided to run with the black bike and white wheels thing get some white kawasaki and zzr stickers on it later on, or as we paint it we are going to do all the painting and bodywork repair between me and my dad, ive spent a couple of hours stripping caked on primer off some of the body panels the bodywork is pretty much the last thing that needs doing but while im waiting for payday again so i can order some parts im just getting on with it, gonna get all of the panels prepared and put to the side so we can do them all in one go once the front wheel is painted which is what im gonna do this week, the new bearings can go in and thats the front end done ;D then i can support the front and middle of the bike and jack the back end up to start stripping everything off the back end need to sort out the rear suspension, rear brake paint the wheel and check the bearings although due to the condition of the bike when i got it il probably just change them anyway, new chain and sprockets then its re assemble and paint all the bodywork, re fit the brakes and its away my dads the electrician so hes been doing bits and bobs on fitting the connectors that were either damaged or different from the new wiring loom and the old parts, but this is all done now and the electrics are all sorted.. happy days

slow progress while im waiting for payday again, the camping trip to the lakes used up all of this months spare cash, but it was worth it, we had fun in the meantime ive just been stripping the primer off the panels, some of it was hiding damage and scratches but they will be filled along with other repairs like cracks and chips im going to have to keep an eye out on ebay for a couple of the panels as a couple of the rear ones are almost beyond repair, one of the indicator mounting tags is snapped off and not present, another mounting tab came off while i was sanding it down today so it will need replacing if we decide to keep that panel still got the front wheel to paint but i cant afford the paint yet so thats going to have to wait for a little bit as well
