advice wanted re badly behaving fridge

Got a fridge with an identity crisis thinks it a freezer

Seriously does anyone know anything about fixing fridges.

Had it for a few years and it's always been set on 3 but couple of weeks ago I came home from work to find a puddle on the floor under the fridge, didn't seem as though it was working very well so turned it up to 4. Seemed ok for a week but then came home to find everything in fridge frozen solid. Since then it's been keeping everything frozen, even when it's turned down to 1.5. Turn it down to 1 and you get constant puddles on the floor.

So basically I've get an incontinent fridge with an identity crisis

sounds like a fridge i had with all my fishing bait ,defrost ,turn it off ,start again, thermostat playing up

Sounds like thermostat to me, check if it is running all the time, if it is then the thermostat contacts are permanently closed.

its not auto defrost is it it may have been defrosting when you turned it up
