Right, I'm after a cheap bike to tidy up. nothing to in depth just a clean and some hard work as opposed to spending loads on parts. I want to spend ruffely £500, with the intention of selling it on for more after tarting it up. if it makes enough ill buy another one and do the same ect. . . just wondering if any one had any ideas of a bike to go for. i was thinking a blade that was a bit of a dog? any suggestions welcome as are any eBay finds

theres not actually a HUGE lot wrong with it tbh, all the brakes need dismantling and cleaning out, which i was going to do, until however halfway through cleaning one of them i realised the bleed nipples where absoloutly fcuked and cant be taken out in a normal maner (grinder maybe?) and so i could finish cleaning them. Also all the fairings are a rubbish paint job (from previous owner) which will cost about £400 to get sprayed properly (a standard colour scheme from a 2003 CBR600 RR)
Oh, and then theres the rust which is part to my own fault really as it was stood for several months only under minimal cover (however i now have sufficient storage facilities)

Spend the money on going to the TT - you've got enough on your plate already JP!

I recon you should get £200 to £250 for that bike Ryan, i know it looks shiite but its got the potential to make a good little bike for someone who has the time. Personally, I recon i could turn that around into a half smart machine in about 6 weekends...thing is, ive had three bikes to bits over the winter and I was planning on actually riding some of them over the next few months... someone will want it though, the engine on it is lovely

yeah i know thats me bidding on engine for it., its easier replacing full engine rather than build bottom end again. i think when its all running ok taxed and tested i will prob sell it for around 700-800. as it stands not sure how much to sell for?
