Hello,I have a 2005 model which is chargin fine at the omen but I was wondering if the rectifier/ regulator on the CB is a known problem pro e to failure as was.the Blackbird. Is there an upgrade to MOSFET as was the case with the Blackbird. Cheeers Mel

I have a 1999 VFR 800 and that too had charging issues which fried two rectifiers eventually traced back to a duff alternator even after fitting a new one and a mossfet rectifier mounted on a heat sink with a hard wired earth things were just the same. I even did a wiring mod which I found the detail for in the VFR forums and things were the same only 12.8 volts charging with a warm engine revving at 5000 revs with the main beam on obviously not enough to charge the battery bearing in mind I am at the TT in less than s week and still had the problem was to say the least gutted, whilst zip tying the wiring back in the by now darkening garage I spotted a flash in the plug hoping the 3 phase from the alternator to the rectifier both brand new plugs after a spray with WD 40 and plugging it back together I spotted that as I shoved the conectors together one of the male conectors was shoving the female conector out of the back of the plug so not making a connection once I made this conection correctly hey presto 14.1 volts and no further charging problems still here on the Isle of Man in the pissing down rain but happy.
