looking at some of the threads lately on what gear to wear or buy and thought I would start this thread its a 5 star rating motorcycling satisfaction survey tell the rest of the teesidebikers about ,your helmet, your gloves, your boots, your tyres, your tools, your luggage etc... *****= excellent, no problem buying again ****= good ,does what it says on the tin ***=can't grumble to much **= poor, don't do what it says on the tin *=crap, avoid at all cost and give a small explanation why so i'll start I have a shoei helmet xr 1000 i'll give this **** because its does the job the only thing wrong is the pin-lock gets in the line of site sometimes then I have a frank thomas raptor textile suit i'll give this ***** I would go out tomorrow and buy another no problem the only thing is you have to make a mental note of witch pocket you put your key in then I have sidi vertigo boots I'll give them *** as they let water in and you can't walk far in them at the other end of your ride but in black as I have not been riding long I have nothing compare with so please let me and other teeside bikers no your gear ratings thanks

I have a shoei helmet xr 1000 I'll give this **** because its does the job the only thing wrong is the pin-lock gets in the line of site sometimes. Great idea for a thread Ron.(Perhaps adding photographs may be a good idea.) If it's any help, I have a Shoei Multitech "Flip Front" lid. Like you, I found the standard Pinlock insert a problem and have now got the "Extra High Version" which overcomes this issue. Having recently purchased the Multitech, I would probably give it a **** rating. The quality feels and looks good, easy to use visor changing mechanism, not as quiet as I was hoping for, perhaps I may be asking too much here. It's my first "Flip Front" and I already like the convenience when at filling stations and talking to others whilst still wearing the lid. (Standard Pinlock)

Alpinestars Apex GTX Boots, ***** I would definitely have the same again. They are GORE-TEX, 100% waterproof and comfortable both on and off the bike.

i would give frank thomas xtreme 2 piece suit ****. It is comfortable, waterproof and warm, only niggle was very poor back protection - a thin sheet of foam so had to purchase a better back protector. However Frank thomas aquastop gloves get *. As waterproof as a sponge and the linings pulled out when taking gloves off and could never get them back in properly.
