It's a kymco zx50 which has the Honda dio engine. It's going really well at the moment although I've altered the mixture to go slightly rich at the expense of some top end speed

I think that Jupiter aligned with mars today... On a bank similar to the one from skinningrove to north Skelton, Jacob claimed that this scooter indicated 70mph. Of course, I've heard the wind blow before... So I took it up the hill and back down too .... Holy shit ! 69mph, but touching 70!!
It's made my week !

This ped arrived with 9,000 miles on the clock. It's now showing over 14,000 miles and it's fair to say, it hasn't had a gentle existence since Jacob took ownership !
Last week it developed a rattle at low revs. It's got a little worse since then but a new barrel, piston, c/w rings, gudgeon pin/circlips and gasket set was ordered. Price...£18 DELIVERED !
These kids don't know how lucky they are these days ! It's coming apart this week for a top end rebuild, hopefully without the need for a bottom end overhaul
More to follow

Barrel piston and rings fitted , special thanks to Rigworker Geoff for a stack of help.. Only trouble is that the water board think there's a leak on the estate given all the tea he drank!

Just shy of 100 miles now since the rebuild, gave it a little squirt up to 55 mph on the last run, feels good

I have a challenge for you! I've got an intake manifold that should fit and 21mm dellorto carb with a main jet kit ranging from (I think) .78 - .90. I reckon you'll see some epic throttle response with these fitted.

Lol ! This thing is in a particularly rude state of health at the moment.. Apart from a cracked supressor cap (new one ordered) Must admit, If I was gonna fit an 80cc barrel, then I'd give it a go... The thing is, it's a ped, and to hit 60mph or more on it, is a bit of a feat. Provided of course , that it's a genuine 49cc

Since passing his test, this little ped has just been sitting around in the garage. I'm going to bring it out this weekend. The boyo clocked up an impressive amount of miles in it last year and even rode it over to the Isle of Man. It went right around the course (including the mountain) and has been decorated with its "Triskelion medal" Preparation for selling has started, including a brand new OE drive belt, cleaned air filter, a new back tyre, an mot and a new plug. There will be a clean up and the brakes will be raked out too. If anyone knows someone who wants a rather special little scooter. Let me know. It's had many, many hours of attention to get it to this level of health. I'm thinking around £450 for it as it is. Comes with spare variator/Rectifier/drive belt/OE exhaust and tyre. If there's a faster ped in Teesside, I haven't seen it.

I had this ped out last week, I replaced the rollers before it went away after the boy passed his car test. I think the ones I fitted are a little heavy. It maxxed out at around 55 Mph. Its coming apart again when I get back to Teesside!

Now gone, the end of a screaming era of wonderful smelling blue smoke (well, not quite.. There's still another stinky stroker in the garage)
