Sky reckon our router has died so wont even send anyone to the house to investigate, they are sending a new router that will take 3 - 5 working days! Meanwhile, no Internet.
So I went and bought a cheap(ish) router from Argos and surprise, surprise, no lighty, no likey, no Internet.
So, to prove a point I'd like to try our router on someone else's setup, so that I can bo***x sky as I suspect the router is fine and something else is wrong.
I'm having to use my smartphone at the moment so can only check in every now and then as it does not work that well.
Reply or PM very welcome.
Cheers, Frank

Thx for the offer, damn Internet came on again all by itself earlier today. I knew there was nothing wrong with the router so now we are left wonder if the same issue might strike again out of the blue!

It's a bit late - but, You can't use a non-sky router on Sky broadband Sky routers have your Sky boadband username and password coded into the firmware

Cheers, got sorted when sky finally sent out a new router. Was going to complain about how long it took but realised we didn't get charged (£ 30!), thought better of it. New one in, job done.
Sky routers can be hacked but its not worth the grief, apart from being able to choose your own DNS server.
