The mercury is beginning to take a dive. Not always a bad thing though and I'm hoping that there will still be plenty of decent weather for sunny rideouts before it's set in properly. Winter time gives us an opportunity to investigate the bikes properly, give them a proper rake out and a damned good inspection. For me, it's a chance to get a few hours of "quality garage time" in.
What plans have you got for your bike over the darker months ?

Seeing as i'm keeping Boris, I will be spending a few hours in the garage....probably just farting about as its just had its 16K service and everything was like new

Since picking up the new (used) RT, have spent 4 days on & off cleaning it properly. It's now looking like it should do for a 2012 bike with 3K on the clock. AYB have treated it with ACF-50.
The front & rear brake callipers plus pads have been cleaned & pistons exercised/pushed back to prevent them seizing. Spark plugs removed & threads copper slipped.
The bike is now tucked up with both wheels off the ground.

My Plan this winter (espcially once I've completed my IAM training)
1. repaint the fairing on the bike. While fairing is off and tank i will replace spark plugs and ACF the engine on the bike 2.drop the fluid out of the brakes and give them a spruce the calipers and replace any parts needed. 3. look at getting the wheel repainted on the bike, depends how difficult or costly they are to be done this winter

Completed a 38,000 mile service on Bob's Bike.
Cam chain tension adjusted, valve clearances checked, spark plugs & air filter replaced, all control cables lubricated, final gear oil plus engine oil & filter changed.
Carburettors to be checked/adjusted (balanced) by AMR at Bellerby.
MOT'd & new front tyre fitted last week.
Should be good to go for another 2,000 miles.

Strip my r6 right down, clean it and fit any new bushes or bearings it might need, get the frame welded, engine service, take the alarm off it and rebuild it ready for track days

Fairings off, lots if muckoff spray, a good rake out with a toothbrush, pressure wash, acf50, brakes apart for a clean up and inspection, chain cleaned and lubed, fresh oil and filter, air filter inspection, no spark plugs this year, check of electrics and bolts/fasteners, redex in the fuel and ran into the system. Tank filled up. A bit of autosol and a go over the panels and tank with paint renovater, polish and touch up paint. Then check tyre pressures before going onto the optimate

Just changed the fork springs on the Z1000 and will upgrade rear shock when something decent turns up. Want to put the tank in for respray and remove a couple of small dent. Then just cleaning and general servicing.

It was a busy saturday, had the front brake calipers off, split them removed pistons and everything got a good clean. Replaced all calliper seals rebuilt calliper and fitted new brake pads, brakes bled nicely and they seem to work much better now.
Fitted a pair of Akrapovic slipons (sound really nice) along with power commander 3 and the correct map, may get it on the dyno later for a proper map but will wait and see how it runs.

Well this is the first part of my respray job,. i have previously done the rear panel. the paint work isn't 100% but i am happy with it as it my first attempt at spraying on this scale. the vynls i have had cut myself using works vynl cutter so are pretty much custom sized logos.
