Recently bought a Ride Mag. (January 2015), there is an article on how to prepare your bike for winter hibernation. "Petrol goes off in a couple of months, causing lots of problems, especially with the modern levels of ethanol used. Either drain your system completely, or use a fuel stabilizer and brim the tank to remove air." I normally brim the tank & just leave it, but this article has set a seed of doubt in my mind. After speaking to OPIE oils, have decided to purchase some Millers Oils Tank Safe, www.millersoils.co.uk/automotive/tds-automotive.asp?prodsegmentID=452§or=Classics. Yes, OPIE sell it, www.opieoils.co.uk/p-69300-millers-oils-classic-tank-safe-fuel-system-protection-additive.aspx, but have found a local stockist, (via Millers website) which is nearly half the price when OPIE include p&p.

Cant blame you but is it not a tad rude to tap someone for free advice then take your business elsewhere?

OPIE Oils - Price Beater PromiseUnfortunately, on this occasion, OPIE weren't able to price match. Being a poor pensioner, I've got to look after my pennies, £11.54 or £6.00. Give Andy a call on Tel: 07931 770494, he stocks Millers & Morris Oils products amongst others. Anyone else got any technical advice and/or bargains they would like to share, whilst supporting local businesses at the same time. (See Teesside Bikers "About Us" page for further details).

In fairness, 5 minutes seldom goes by where Dayglo isn't buying or endorsing something from Opie Anyhow, I read that article, too. Good magazine to subscribe to are RiDE! I have been for a couple years. They've always got useful info floating around in there, and their bike tests are pretty bloody good. They don't seem to have the biasedness of, say, MCN.

After paying £4.10 for a Ride Mag., decided to take their advice & added Fuel Stabilizer to both bikes today.
Carbs. also drained on BOB's Bike.
