Our ER6's headlight is right wonky... The video below pretty much sums it up without all my waffle. Basically when I switch to high beam all it does it make the beam spread wider on the floor in front of me. I've tried turning the headlight adjuster (or what I was lead to believe is the vertical adjuster. The horizontal is on the other side of the light) but I don't think that's the problem, because the low beam is a at a perfectly acceptable angle). Regardless, having turned it over 9000 times, it doesn't budge... Having just had a look at the photo I took to show you guys there's another one above, which I've not tried, so maybe that's it. Come to think of it that makes sense, I have no idea.

It does look a strange result, it appears the high beam is moving the light closer to you as if somethings upside down...is it possible that a lampholder is misplaced/ mispositioned?

Ahhhhhhh............... Poxy forum I was reading said they were t'other way round xD Even if I were to adjust the vertical axis, would that then affect both beams, making my low too high? Might have to get it checked out when I get a new tyre next week (hopefully). It does look a strange result, it appears the high beam is moving the light closer to you as if somethings upside down...is it possible that a lampholder is misplaced/ mispositioned? That's just it, like it's mounted wonky. Hopefull the garage will have a quick look/fix 'cause I don't really wanna have to take it apart if I can avoid it

Looks like the Low & High Beams are both in the same Headlight Unit & only one adjuster for height.

MOT time is looming, and since it's been summer this hasn't really been much of a problem. Had the light off a couple times, to see if I/our mates could figure it out - to no avail.
Anybody got a theory, as far left-field as you like, just some idea of what it could be? Makes no sense, like Dayglo said, it's all one unit, and the low beam is at a fair height but the high beam illuminates horizontally instead of throwing the beam further ahead.
It just seems odd that it's aimed at the exact same point?

has it been like since you got the bike? IF so is this a standard problem with ER-6s Yea, it's been that way all along. I've just registered on the Kawi forum to see what those guys think. It's become quite a pressing issue with the MOT just over a week away! The other option, which I quite like the look of, is to swap the standard headlight out for a round one. 7" seems to be the way to go, but I'm not sure which are shit and which are not - they seem to be quite different prices. HID's would be lovely, but I don't have that kind of money, sadly. Something like

The way that headlight fits on is a bit weird, two bolts at the top, and two bolts (replaced by cable ties at the sides). Those round headlights generally clamp to the forks, I believe?

I would put my money on the High Beam bulb not seated correctly in the holder.... My cars front fogs are H11 and they are a bugger to get clicked in properly.

Hmmm, I couldn't actually get the bulb out a while back... I tried and tried and tried, and the barsteward wouldn't release, but it didn't look wonky, mind. I thought it was the way the holder was in the unit. I'm going to have to have another luck at it tomorrow... Or hope I can get a single headlight sharpish xD

It doesn't take much error in the fitting to create a dodgy light spread .... Couple of degree's out and the light won't hit the reflector in the right spot.
