Hi All, Does anyone remove immobilisers? Just bought a 1995 CBR600F and the immobilisers decided to immobilise the bike! Cheers Spike

Hi
Might be a daft question.
How are you trying to disable it?
Via key in ignition or via key fob?
As if key in ignition it is built in immobiliser
If key fob it is an alarmimmobilser - If it has an alarm take this off.
You might know more tahn me if so just ignore.
Cheers

Hi Jock, it's a fob, it does nothing when I press it and point it at the bike! The bike is asleep. Another freakin summer with no bike!

Have a look through, there may be some in the site sponsors who can give you a reasonable deal to remove the system.

There is but he didn't show up! Bad Craic... I don't know how to fix the things, I only ride them but it sounds like you need to by pass it and make it redundant. Wish I could help but I'm no good at anything like that... Offer money or a Pitstop breakfast to someone on here who has the skills and sure someone will help...

Could it be the key fob battery?

My lad and me took it in his van to Crofton Court MC's. I've asked them to take the bugger off!

you have not said which alarm it is, & if you have the instructions? etc. On some alarm / immobilisers if it has gone into sleep mode then you have to switch ON the ignition and then press the fob. If the fob is faulty then you can manually input the known code by following the instructions. After market alarm/ immobilisers are more problem than use when they go wrong. Mine went into destruct mode & burnt out with a lot of smoke! they can be removed by anyone with a bit of wiring knowledge even CAT 1 systems- it doesn't take long - they are only a time deterrent on a parked up bike.

I got Crofton Court MC's to take it off. Really good, quick and efficient. Now I can ride the bugger. The whole immobiliser and fob were very old, prob as old as the bike, 20 years? Certainly no instructions and no makers name anywhere. I'm just glad it's off the bike ;0)
