I was hoping someone may have a setup like this on here
I have recently set up CCTV and DVR unit at home,. i have my DVR unit upstairs out the way in a cupboard which has Cat5 cabling to it.
Im wanting to transport the HDMI signal via Cat5/6 cabling to my downstairs TV but the quickest solution is to use existing network cabling and go Via the router.
All the extendered ive seen using cat5, don't stat that you can go through a router. in essence it using the 8 strands in the network cable to transfer the signal
Does anyone know of anything that im after.

I was looking at something similar for our TV setup at home - there is a HDMI wireless sender too but they were still expensive when I was looking at them.
Gotta be a way using Wi-Fi surely?

Can you not just get a long hdmi lead? I had a long one in our last house that was chased into the wall and went from downstairs to upstairs. I didn't get the cable but I believe the lad that did the job just had one made to the length he needed.

You're right about the extenders - i doubt they would traverse a router.
Has your tv got a web browser built in? If so that would be the easiest way to go.
Else move the DVR close to the TV.
You can get long hdmi leads (lindy do a 10m one for around £40 iirc) - you can also get a coupler to connect leads together but I'm not sure of attenuation issues over long hdmi runs.

One way of doing it could be to get a amazon fire stck thing for your tv. I'm sure these support browsers, firefox in particular I think.
You could then use the browser to navigate to the dvr box.
