Hello everybody in the saddle! Boyhood dream fulfilled on 3rd December 2016; getting on MY H-D Sportster & riding it back to Yarm. Philosophy; is it daylight? are the roads dry? If yes to both - I'm out there! See you around - Dave

Hi Dave, welcome to the forum, and welcome back to biking. Just remember that technology has moved on somewhat over that time, along with more traffic, and more fools on the network... Take your time getting used to your bike and enjoy it.

Thanks guys. Already done 1000 miles in 10 weeks and had to up my mileage on the insurance 'cos I'm gonna do WAY more then I thought when I took it out - especially in the summer months.
And nickw - my cats are always pleased to see me. Maybe it's something to do with me feeding them! :-)

I have worked with a cat charity since 1978. I have probably homed around 2000 cats & kittens in that time. In 1984, my wife & I homed over 300 = 1 1/4 % of the national total for the charity that year; not to mention doing full time teaching jobs as well. I also put 11,581 cat miles on the car that year!!

Just done another 100 today! Interesting side wind up the A1M! Straight road, leaning sideways. Had to take bike to Gatehead Harleys to get sidestand mod - kept showing warning- -sidestand down, when it wasn't - slack spring - sorted now.
Got home - Daymaker headlight had arrived. 12 minutes to fitted & working. Anyone else tried these beauts - "see and be seen". Searchlights R us!! £400 less than the Harley version from an Amazon business - can recommend!!
