After waiting 2 hours for some fly-by-night recovery service during my breakdown today I ended up losing my rag and demanded a good local recoverer pick me and my bike up and that they had better be well equipped to handle bikes without damage. So thanks to Fred Henderson Ltd www.fredhenderson.com/Operator turned up in a custom fitted LWB transit especially adapted for bikes, great wide ramp, front wheel clamp and proper tie-downs. Knowledgeable & nice guy he was too. Seems they do the bike recovery at Croft for trackdays & BSB.

I think Fred Henderson recovered my VFR after I had binned it, they know how to look after motorcyclists and their bikes.

i had a right cowboy firm recover my Triumph America off the M6 a few years ago, turned up in a standard car flatbed truck, and strapped it down that hard the front tyre was nearly flat and the forks were bending, plus his driving was so bad i had to ask him to slow down. tailgating cars on the motorway etc! Nice to hear of a decent firm tho!
