My bike conked out on Monday and I had to leave it in Richmond. It was only the battery that died but at the time I didnt know that, but then again I am not a mechanic. I got MMT to pick the bike up and I have to agree they were really quick in getting the bike back and agreed to pick it up straight away. However I have to say I am less than impressed with their service once they got the bike..... I was promised someone would call me the afternoon of the day they picked the bike up....it took them 2 days to tell me what the problem is and that only after I kept chasing them for updates. Surely an experienced mechanic should be able to figure something like this out a bit sooner? I realise that it is a busy time for them but have they never heard of 'don't promise something that you cant keep'? They did however give me a quote for a whole new exhaust system £280 - fitted. I know my downpiptes have holes in it and they need replacing and I will get round to it... Now its the weekend they still have the bike in their workshop and we are only talking about a new battery...and no I havent told them I am a member of TB's but that shouldnt really matter or should it?

tough one, mmt were busy last time I visited, you can't expect them to have every battery going in stock though. £280 for a set of fitted downpipes seems pretty fair <even if you compare with ebay> however, not calling is a bit naughty.. I would advise you to mention TB's, mmt have an account and will read your comments. It is a busy time for all bike shops at the moment, be polite but firm.. you'll get a result

And as I said if someone promises they will do something then I expect them to deliver. If I tell one of my customers I will call them back, you can guarantee I will, whether I have a result for them or not. Its just nice to be kept updated. All I can say is that they wont be seeing me again. Oh and btw I picked up a set of downpipes with the gaskets for £190 of the tinternet....a friend will fit them for me.
