Xbox 360:Can HDMI & Component be used at the same time?
Hello,
My Son-in-law got a gaming chair for Xmas but his TV does NOT have any type of sound out port (not even headphones!)
I figured he needs to get a full component Xbox cable to get the sound out for his chair to work but he wants to keep using the HDMI connection he uses now - so, will the Xbox output BOTH signals at once or does one cut the other out?
And I guess the next questions:
Is there an easy way around this or a better way of getting the audio to go to the chair??
Cheers - Frank

if you using HDMI their should of been another adapter that plugs in that gives out your audio.
you can't use the componant and HDMI cables at the same time.
if you didn't get this then give me a shout i may have one in my draw i don't use.

Thanks for the quick reply Chris, i didnt think the Xbox would run 2 video 'outs' at the same time. No extra adapters or cables came with the Xbox as it was 2nd hand to us, we simply bought a HDMI cable to get us away. I'll have to check his TV to see if it accepts component in, I guess. Be great if you have an adapter - he's got an Xrocker chair that accepts either mini-jack of phono cables if I remember the names right. If you could post a link of image of the adapter that would be much appreciated! +1 to you

Cheers Chris - I've been able to find a source on Ebay now I know what I'm looking for unless you have one spare I could buy off you?
Poor Son-in-law came back with a Scart to phono adapter that I explained will never work to get sound out of the TV as he didnt realise the HDMI is digital whereas I believe scart is just analogue - well, it didnt work anyway!

i had the both connectors running at the same time, i had to take the casing of the AV connector as they would not fit in at the same time, this was for a turtle beach headset. i cant see the chair being a different connection though.
BEWARE the AV connecter becomes very fragile when the casing is removed.
