I just got a call from a friend who informed me that a good mate of mine payed the ultimate price today. www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/Afghanistan/article6899628.ecenews.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8338220.stmAlthough, it doesnt mention it, Olaf started out a a chef and he was posted to 215 signal squadron on tidworth. I made two trips out to Cyprus with him..we both managed to get evening jobs in one of the local bars on limmassol where we were paid in booze. He then moved on and took on a variety of new roles. Im so very sad to hear of his untimely end. Goodbye mate.

I have seen references to Olaf's death several times over the weekend, I didn't know Olaf but I do know Lee. My thoughts have been with Lee who has lost a good mate. Not forgetting all the other service men and women who have lost their lives and their bereaved families and friends.
