Tightened my chain up last week (thanks for the help Dayglow)
One week later the things is drooping like an alcoholics wanger…!!
Checked it for tight / slack spots at the time and seemed ok.
Any clues from the brethren?

If its an old chain it might be well on its way out. Once a chain starts to stretch, the longer its left the faster it will stretch more.
Either that or you sure you tightened up the chain adjuster bolts properly ?

Either that or you sure you tightened up the chain adjuster bolts properly ? Bolt was tightened with a torque wrench to manufacturers setting. I guess it must be the chain, but the stretching has gone from around 25mm flex between sprockets to about 60mm in a week!!

Sounds like a goosed chain.
Would recommend getting it swapped sharpish as the next stage is a snap.

Sounds like all the symptoms of a cheap chain. Everyone does it once, then gets sick of tightening them, junks it and buys a quality one

These are the bolts I've known people to forget to tighten. If they aint locked then the wheel can be pulled back and the chain loosened.

Do most people replace the sprockets at the same time as the chain?

If it has happened that quickly it may be that the adjusters, locknut or alignment were not tightened/adjusted properly...even if the main nut is tightened it can slip forward on the adjusters.

Any clues from the brethren? How do you know what an alcoholics wanger droops like? Try an elastic band around it, keeps it inflate a bit longer...so they say.

As stated Kev, it's not just the axle bolt that needs tightning off, it's the lock nut on the adjuster section.
Check whether the chain lifts away from the rear sprocket.... Check lateral movement on your chain as well...
If goosed, and it is a consumable, Buy a decent chain and new sprocket set. Front and rear... It's not a cheap thing to do but it'll be a nasty thing for it to snap and wrap around your ankle.

He had to order mine in and got next day delivery, however, there's a little thing coming up called bank holiday weekend. Give me a shout if you're going over and if I'm about drop in for brew. I've got CBT on but might be out doing road work. Our new place is quite close.
