hi all,
back in may I bought myself an 05 plate R1200gs with 13k miles on. It's now due it's 18k service and I don't know where to take it. I know there is Coopers BMW up at Boldon but just wondered if anyone knows of anyone in Teesside of doing the major service jobs like valve adjustment etc. incapable myself so need to pay to have it done but don't fancy being stung by BMW if I can get it done cheaper in Teesside?
any hints, names, tips or ideas gratefully received .
stay safe folks!

2 wheeled solutions (site sponsors), they recently did Clints MV augusta. they are the lads who used to work in white brothers (who then went to liqudation) and they set up shop in darlington. also steve at croft court should manage to do this who is also a site sponser.

No worries mate, seen today someone on GS 05reg with highviz helmet on in h-pool, I've done the service with 2WS guys on my Honda this year and honestly can recommend them.

Having just had a 18K miles service on my RT, I'm not looking forward to the cost of the next service, 24K miles/3 years. I've used Mick Kendrick in the past and now see he has a website, think I'll be giving him a call. Alternatively, I could buy a new bike.

Just rang Mick, he quoted me a price which is half that of what the dealers want for the same service, guess what I'll be doing.

Need to get a Haynes manual and see what service work I can do myself. Got the manual and fancy having a go at most of the work myself, except those jobs which need specialist tools and experience.

Had a full day in the garage, 24,000 miles/3 years service items completed with the exception of the following:-
Reading fault memory with BMW Motorrad diagnostic system Replace belt for generator Changing brake fluid, front and rear Correcting engine synchronisation Setting service-due date and service countdown distance Confirming BMW Service in on-board documentation
Will call Mick Kendrick tomorrow and booked the bike in to complete the service.

Bespoke service completed today by Mick Kendrick, saving myself £280, enough to buy a new pair of tyres and 2 pairs of brake pads.
