If someone complains directly to ProBoards would they have the power to delete threads without notification ? Thought, I'd try a quote to see what happens... Proboards could easily delete a thread/post on any forum hosted by them but it would be suicide if it became public and they wouldnt threaten an income stream in that way. I'll have a look on the proboard help system when I get chance.

If someone complains directly to ProBoards would they have the power to delete threads without notification ? Technically yes, in reality it would have to be serious for them to want to be involved. I think, and I could be wrong on this, that US hosting companies have quite a lot of protection under their communications laws. Not the same in the uk, where the poster, the site owner and the isp could be held responsible (in theory if not in practice due to the cost of bringing action) for any libel or defamation.

Quick update on this situation.
The case that Hman had with Viva Moto is now concluded. His original thread started on another forum and we posted on here too. Upshot is that one of the directors of Viva Moto spotted it when he was browsing. This director lives in Dubai , so wasn't in the loop as it were. Anyway, he came on the forum and gave an unreserved apology to Hman and then contacted him personally to help sort out the situation. Hman has since been back on that forum and has accepted what was offered in the way of compensation and replacement. The director appeared to be sincere, and stated he was in effect a sleeping partner, but didn't like what he had been reading so decided to front up and sort things out.
Oh and I believe that they no longer trade as Viva Mto, but as Rite Bike.

They are now 'RITE BIKE', however it seems things never change ... Already they have very negative reviews appearing online.
