Away Guys! Lets lighten up a bit and get back to the party? This stuff happens every day on the roads of Britain, it's a risk you take everytime you get on our bike, nevermind countless other things! When your times up, its up so just grab life by the horns and make the most of it. Just take a positive message from all this and move on. Don't dwell on it too much, it can drive you crazy!

When your times up, its up so just grab life by the horns and make the most of it. Just take a positive message from all this and move on. Don't dwell on it too much, it can drive you crazy! Gordon I have to agree with you. Whilst I'm very sad for the gentleman in question and my deepest sympathies go to his family and friends, I am a great believer in when your numbers up its up! Falling off, dropping, or whatever you want to call it, a bike at any speed is not nice (as I have learnt by personal experience) but everytime we get on that is a risk we all take and are happy to do so. Just like crossing the road, driving our cars, the jobs we do and the list goes on. Enjoy your life. We are a long time dead. Don't take any risks you can avoid but I still believe - when your numbers up, no matter what you do, the game is over. Look after yourselves my friends - you are all very precious and would hate any of you to be hurt - but have fun and live life to the full, it really is too short.

From what I've just read the Rider is alive but still Critical: www.thisishullandeastriding.co.uk/news/Brief/article-3466332-detail/article.html
" Driffield motorcyclist fighting for life after crash is due to marry
A motorcyclist is fighting for his life in hospital after a crash in North Yorkshire. Pete Drury, 62, of Driffield, is due to marry his partner Carol Lewis later this year. Police said he suffered "very serious, life-threatening injuries" after colliding with a car towing a caravan on the B1257 near Helmsley on Sunday. Mr Drury was featured in the Mail last year when he and Miss Lewis got engaged. The couple met at night hosted by Singles Together. Mr Drury was airlifted to the James Cook Memorial Hospital in Middlesbrough following the crash, where he remains in a critical condition."

Another older rider died not too far away over the same weekend, so sadly there might have been a mix up... Even worse, sadly the Rider in this accident died as a result of his injuries after 6 days fighting for his life in hospital..... Tributes to biker killed in B-road crash11:30am Thursday 28th April 2011 "TRIBUTES have been paid to a biker who died in hospital earlier this week after a six-day fight for life following a road accident. Peter Drury died on Saturday, almost a week after he was involved in a collision on the B1257, between Helmsley and Stokesley, North Yorkshire, on April 17. The 62-year-old, from Driffield, was due to marry his fiancee, Carol Lewis, later this year. She said: "Peter was a wonderful man who was loved by all who knew him. "He will be terribly missed by his family and wide circle of friends. "As Peter and I were due to married later this summer, I ask that I be left in peace so that I can grieve in private to come to terms with this painful loss." Mr Drury’s silver Honda motorcycle was collided with a Kia Sorento heading in the opposite direction. He was airlifted to the James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, and died six days later. An inquest into Mr Drury’s death was opened and adjourned yesterday. The occupants of the Kia, who were from Billingham, were not injured in the collision. Witnesses to the collision are asked to call Traffic Sergeant Clare Sawyer, of Thirsk road policing group, on 0845-60-60-24-7, quoting reference number NYP-1704-2011-0312. "

This information is taken from the Darlington & Stockton Times 4/11/2011:-
"A hearing heard how an experienced biker, who died after being hit by a car coming the opposite way around a bend in the road, was in too high a gear to easily negotiate the bend.
Peter Drury, from Driffield, East Yorkshire, died after his Honda motorcycle was in collision with a Kia Sorrento towing a caravan, on the B1257, between Stokesley and Helmsley, in April.
Mr Drury's friend, Steve Ingleson, who was riding with him at the time, described him as a "fantastic" rider, who never took risks.
A post-mortem examination, found the 62 year old died from head injuries.
Mr Oakley (coroner), who recorded a verdict of accidental death, said: "Unfortunately, it was a mis-judgment on Mr Drury's part that has led to the collision".

Well spotted David - does not even appear as a single article.
Cant understand that decision, all I can find is the bike was a CBR, so most likely 600 or 1000....
and it was in 'too high a gear to easily negotiate the bend.'
