my bikes front end shakes between 50 - 70 as though it has a buckled wheel or something i thought id solve this by getting a new wheel off ebay.. so i found one at a reasonable price that claimed to be in good condition having exactly the same problem with this one which is making me think its something else.. could it be the brake discs? or maybe the bold axle thing that holds the wheel on is bent? any thoughts?

yeah graham said it would either be the tyre or the discs but he had a little look and didnt think it was the discs.. but the new wheel has a good as new trye on it :S im gonna pop in to see them tomorow and get the tyre swapped over to see if it actually makes a difference

it could be the discs.. they are quite worn anyway they have a big step in them but im looking at about 120ish for a new set so it will have to wait another week

Is it when your braking or just traveling braking warped disc, or traveling wheel needs balancing, or poss head bearings m8.Possible tyre.

it could be a lot of things ie- wheel balance disc warp fork oil level slightly twisted forks duff tyre rim headset bearings vibration transfer from rear wheel and running components rear shock
i could go on - Ask Graham to ride it - good luck

i thought it could be the bearings on the first wheels so i got some new ones.. no change.. you cant feel any shaking under braking other than the shaking thats already been happening between 50 - 70.. its a real puzzle haha.. shouldnt be the tyre cos there both in good condition.. iv checked there balanced and they both are.. will have to clock them to see if the wheels are buckled

Most probs the head bearings bud lift front wheel off the deck and see if there is any side to side movement if there is their either screwed or need adjusting

If it's up and down it's likely to be a tyre issue. Brake discs warp - that gives a side - side wobble as centrifugal forces (gyroscopic effect) cause the wobble. Wheel balance would also cause a side-side wobble. I can only think that tyre, or less liekyl, a wheel out of shape would cause an up-down motion.
You need someone with a run-out gauge to check the discs and wheel rim to be sure - if it's a good un they can also check the wheel/tyre for round

try not to ride it too much at least till you know what the problem is, last thing you want is your front end falling to pieces as you hurtle along at 80mph

I had this issue on my old GPZ500s between 40 and 45. All it needed was the wheel balanced and the problem was cured. I would look in to that first as its the cheapest thing to try.
