A few weeks ago, I drained the fuel out of the carbs, flushed them through with petrol from the tank and borrowed a battery from GRM.
Pushed the button and hey presto, fired up first time after being stood for 51 weeks.

Yesterday, with the help from a fellow TB'er, BOB's Bike was transported from my mum's to home.

Today, the calipers (which were sticking a little) were removed, pistons pushed out a little, cleaned up and put back together.
The fuel tank was drained, (some debris seen when flushing carbs), fuel filter inspected as clean, and tank replaced with fuel.
All control cables lubricated using a cable oiler and speedo/rev counter cables greased.
Plugs removed and checked as OK.
Areas beneath tank treated with ACF-50.

Slime (puncture prevention/repair solution) put in both tubed tyres. Battery arrived dry charged, now filled with acid and put on charge as per instructions. The front mudguard has a couple of cracks in it and it slightly corroded. MR GONZO came round this afternoon to look at it, with a view to repairing and painting.

Battery fitted, the bike reluctantly started, I suspect that the battery was not fully charged.
Have removed the battery for further charging today.
Fuel system conditioner added to the petrol in the tank, this will give the carbs and top end of the motor a treat.

nice work! you're out on the bike today then dayglo? No, it's not currently MOT'd or Taxed, but is insured. Need to be a little more confident with the battery too, seemed better today after further charging. Have done an output check on the charging system on the bike and all OK. Would like to check the battery with one of those "intelligent" chargers which do a discharge check etc.

Cheers Mario (Kamas), I was on my way home from BIG DOG's, having just had the bike MOT'd by Garry, and yes, it passed with flying colours, no advisories. The headlight was a bit low, Garry adjusted it, all for the cost of £20. I was really surprised at the cost of £20, this is a TB's discounted price, best value for money MOT I've had recently. Called in at IB Post Office and now also Taxed for a year. It was great being out on the bike again, complete with my retro kit.
